An adviser has decided against trying to achieve Fellowship status after finding it difficult to navigate the new Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) exam system, while in a related story the professional body has also said it has no plans to re-introduce physical exam and status certificates.

The adviser, who preferred not to be named, said Professional Adviser's recent article on CII exam certificates going digital only covered "one aspect" of how the exam process with the professional body had, in their opinion, been devalued. When taking the AF5 exam in 2019, the adviser felt that the PSI online system, whereby advisers sit their exams, was not user friendly enough for a three-hour written exam.
