Manchester firm declared failed by FSCS over pensions advice

Manchester-based advice firm Pension Advice Specialists, trading as Ashworth Wealth has been declared failed by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

In a statement today (26 March), the FSCS said the firm no longer exists, so customers can make claims against it. The lifeboat fund said it has received 14 claims against Pension Advice Specialists relating to pension transfer advice and one has been upheld. It also confirmed that the claim was not associated with British Steel Pension Scheme transfers. According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) register, Pension Advice Specialists is in an insolvency process and was authorised in March 2018.
