If you’re planning to take your dog abroad with you, then it’s a good idea to make sure that he or she has some kind of health certificate. If you’re traveling within the European Union (EU), the United States, or Japan, then your pet will be all set. But if not, here’s What You Need To Know About Dog health certificate for travel!

EUROPE:

What You Need To Know About Dog health certificate for travel!

In Europe, You’ll need a pet passport endorsed by a vet as well as an EU Pet Passport Scheme Approved Veterinarian Listing. If you don’t have a pet passport, then you’ll need to get one in each EU country you visit. Then make sure your vet issues a health certificate listing the entry and exit dates of your pet. On the other hand, if you have a pet passport, then use it to travel within countries that also issue health certificates for pets. For example, if your dog has been in Spain for three months, then he or she is allowed to enter and/or stay in Spain for as long as a Spanish dog’s health certificate lists.

AUSTRALIA:


In Australia, we are required to list our pets on an approved Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) Listing.
If you’re traveling from Australia to New Zealand, then your pet will need to be microchipped.

NEW ZEALAND:


In New Zealand, we are required to list our pets on an approved Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) Listing. If you’re traveling from New Zealand to Australia, then your pet will need to be micro-chipped.

NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA:

You’ll need a health certificate for animals traveling from one country to another. To get this certificate, contact the vet in the country you’re starting from and ask him or her for one.
