Wider pension reform is needed to reboot UK economic growth, the Investment Association (IA) has said.

The organisation said reforms undertaken as part of the government's pensions review represent a "key foundation" for better retirement outcomes, but must deliver better retirement outcomes for members while supporting UK economic growth. According to the IA, investment managers in the sector want to ensure the pensions system is "fit for purpose" and believe the government can "build a new consensus" to achieve its growth objectives without needing to mandate or direct pension capital.
